Fishing Tuition

TUITION RECOMMENDATIONS
I hadn't fly fished before and was seeking something more
than just basic tuition in an effort to gain a good grounding
in as many aspects of the sport as I could. To this end I
elected to undertake the four day course offered by Craig and
Marlene which proved ideal. The tuition is well structured and
includes a comprehensive guide to all aspects of fly fishing
extending beyond the necessary casting, line setup, river and stream
craft instruction to such aspects as to what to look for amongst the
vast array of fly fishing tackle available to those intending to
purchase their own equipment.
Tuition is at a relaxed pace with plenty of time for questions,
practise along the way and is tailored to suite one's
individual pace. The latter part of the four day
tuition course focussed on actually catching and landing
trout during which time I was able to land a number of fine rainbows.
I would recommend this tuition course to anyone wanting a
sound understanding of fly fishing whilst enjoying the guiding
couple's homely accommodation and fine kiwi hospitality.

With Marlene I had a wonderful fishing day where she gave
me intensive tuition howto use a fly fishing rod and how
to catch a fish. It was a great experience to be tought
by a women in such a professional way. As it was my
third time (ever) fishing in NZ, I had to learn being
patient and not giving up at once if something doesn´t
work out immediately. On the base of many years experience
in fly fishing and guiding Marlene obtained a big human
knowledge and her sensitiveness and sense of humor made
every minute to a successful and happy time at the river.
I caught my first fish with a fly rod!
Thank you for this unforgetable day.

9 Reasons to consider tuition
►I lack confidence in my own self teaching methods.
►I want to learn how to increase my catch rate within days, not years.
►I want to know why rivers I fly fish seem void of any fish.
►My partner, wife is keen to learn but prefers guidance from a women guide.
►I want to learn how to set up my own equipment, what to purchase.
►Quietly curious to why 90% of the time other anglers have more sucess
►I am keen for my young lad, lassy to take up an outdoor sport
►I lack landing a fish skills
►I freak out when a fish takes my fly and sends this angler
adage (KISS) Keep it simple stupid.

Don't freak out!! Consider tuition as gaining a new skill,
a progression to updating your existing skills.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between being
 guided and having tuition lessons?
A: Time is a factor for clients being guided.
Clients recieve guidance in catching trout
in a short amount of time and pay for the
benefit of a guides experience to assist
them to do so. Clients usually have fished
for years and have good casting skills.
Tuition clients learn all aspects of
fly fishing from basic set up of equipement
to more advanced techniques. Frequent river
stops occur throughout then 3 river days to
learn differing fishing situations. Importance
to catch trout is focused toward the end of
the final two days.
Q: What are the tuition hours?
A: Tuition days begin at 9am and end at 3pm
Q: I am keen to book but still have more questions
